Best song of all time

I had a wee yarn with Jim Mora on National Radio this afternoon which was a hoot. He has a 'what's the best song of all time?' slot each day after the 1pm news... I got in with U2's With or Without You from the Joshua Tree album.
So what's your choice of best song of all time??? Hit the comment button below and put in your choice! As long as you don't choose anything by Celine Dion I will make the list of replies into a blog in the next while!

I am working with a group of colleagues on a Sunday evening 'service' on the 7th October where we will use the music of U2 in the context of a communion service. One of our working titles is Sunday Bloody Sunday - "Yeah I'd drink bread and wine if there was a church I could receive in." - the title is from a U2 song - the sub-text is a line from their song 'Acrobat'. Keep on the lookout for the big event!!! I will have more details on this blog once they are firmed up!

hey marty BIG BIG news in Dunners is you was on Nat radio yesterday! First of all, congragtulations on such a sexy voice for radio. Barry says you really do have a radio face! Kerry seemingly listening to the Edge again! The rest of us missed it cause we were out drinking coffee at Delicacy (new office and general pastoral station for Highgate now).
Secondly, we miss you and how come you have more time for blogging and we don't?

Lots of love and radio listening all day today just in case you get back on!

From Highgate ministry team meeting.
This is a proper minute of our meeting.

Hope you will save a couple of seats for your u2 in church event, for a couple of ashburton mart the rev fans. As for the best song of all time, mutti and I vote for 'stay'(faraway so close) which is a first equal for me with bob dylans 'when he returns'from slow train coming. Anna fancys kevin bloody wilson but what would she know, she actually owns a celine dion cd! Dad approves of your reading material, hes read it too.

Good to hear from you lot in Dunners - the radio face assault as well... more meetings should have minutes like yours - keep it up. Anne and I will be down for the weekend so sharpen your acts up!

And great to hear from alicat and the team re best song. I believe you Anna that you don't have a Celine Dion CD anymore - neither do I anymore.
Proudly I can say that I have never had a Meatloaf CD, or a Queen one... but I did purchase the horrid Paul Holmes one, on sale, as a gift for Anne, but I was being silly... last time I saw it was when I sent it up the hill behind our house in Dunedin. One day an archeologist will find it and Paul will get be famous.
